Ram hi... thanks for visiting and linking. Only thing: the links in both my blog and yours point to wrong pages. The link is: http://maqamatics.blogspot.com/2007/06/love-and-war-in-time-of-call-era.html on your Blog. Thanks. By the way, do mail me what you felt about the post.

Ram, thanks for your comment. I totally cohere with you when you say Gowri's is an imporatant contribution to theatre in Chennai. I would unabashedly go one step further and say it is an important contribution to theatre in general. I am so in awe of her vision. And for reasons I compared this work with other works of literature, I think FLAME is a global work. My opinions in this blog is restricted to one performance I saw of one production. This need not in any sense be interpreted as a slight to the work itself. Also, any work written is of course an original creation. But what I was reflecting about was the amount of influence another work has. Otherwise none at all. I am posting another in response to the review today in The Hindu. I think it could have been a lot more different from the subjective erudition it shows. My reflections in the latest post is mainly in response to the review. And also to some extent as an aftermath of some exchange of thoughts with some theatre artists of Chennai. No names. Please do visit it when time permits.

About your comment to underplay your contribution: Usually they say there's a woman behind every man's success saying he's wrong. It is vice-versa IMHO. There's a very important man behind this woman's efforts. I respect your humility.
